This cemetery is located on the northwest corner of Deerfoot Parkway at the Intersection of I-59 in Trussville, Alabama. This is exit number 143 from I-59.
The original Mount Olive Church was constructed on Springville Road in the heart of the Community of Clay in 1888. A few years later, the church building was relocated to the Happy Hollow community on a two acre tract of land which had been donated to the church. The present day cemetery was dedicated behind the Mount Olive Church at that time, which was about 1910.
The Mount Olive Church no longer exists. The cemetery is now managed by the Deerfoot Baptist Church which is located about a quarter mile west on Mount Olive Church Road. This road parallels I-59. This is a modern facility constructed within the past decade. A sign at the cemetery indicates that the cemetery will retain it’s original name. The cemetery is in good shape and well maintained.
I completed transcribing this cemetery on Jan 13-18, 2007. This is a complete listing of all readable stones in the cemetery. There do not appear to be any missing stones or unmarked graves in this cemetery. There is one recent burial that does not as yet have a marker.
